Aloe vera is the gel from aloe plant leaves, and it has been used for healing for thousands of years. Aloe is used for a variety of ailments, but it is best known for treating skin conditions. Applied topically, it helps heal minor burns and scrapes, acne, and even psoriasis. It originated from the Arabian Peninsula, and there are over 500 types of aloe around the world.
